Costa Rican attorney with more than twenty years of professional experience in the legal field. My main areas of practice include Competition and Consumer Law, Telecommunications and Government Procurement, but I also have a good level of experience in other areas such as corporate law, intellectual property, and real estate. I have special knowledge of three regulated industries: telecommunications, tobacco, and advertising. My experience includes several cases dealing with public entities, both in administrative and judicial instances and I have participated in several complex transactions including due diligences, mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions. I have worked mainly in law firms providing advice to local and international companies, but I also spent some months as in-house counsel of a transnational company dealing with Costa Rican and Central American matters. Among others, I obtained a Law Degree summa cum laude from Universidad de Costa Rica (2002) and a Master of Business, Competition and Regulatory Law from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (2013). I speak Spanish and English and have a good command of German. I have been ranked by Chambers & Partners in the areas of Public Law, Competition Law and TMT: Telecoms, Media, and Technology. I have been a member of different organizations and business chambers such as: Uccaep, Amcham, Azofras, SLW and BNI.
